Product details

The Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Hypoallergenic DR 25 helps to eliminate or reduce a wide range of intolerances in cats to foodstuffs, lowering the risk that they will go on to develop associated conditions and diseases.

How it works

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Hypoallergenic DR 25 is a carefully selected blend of proteins and carbohydrates that makes the food hypoallergenic, meaning it most likely will not cause an adverse reaction to your cat. This allows you to use it as a basis for an elimination diet to discover which food group it is that causes your pet an allergic reaction.

A combination of essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids help promote strong bones and fight against kidney disease, which can otherwise lead to high blood pressure and anaemia. These naturally occurring acids are also important in giving your cat a sleek, luxurious coat.

This is boosted by a patented complex that supports the skin's barrier defences – keeping moisture in while helping to keep out infectious agents.

Key benefits

  • delicious and complete meals that won't cause allergies to your cat
  • essential fatty acids promote bone and kidney health
  • a patented complex supports the skin's barrier defences.

When to use

Vomiting, diarrhoea, poor appetite or weight loss may all be signs that your cat is suffering from an allergy to what you're feeding them. It's a common occurrence and can be due to reactions to additives, spices or colourings in their feed, leading to gastrointestinal problems that are uncomfortable for them. Your vet will be able to tell you what's wrong with your cat, and it's worth bearing in mind that many older cats can suffer from lactose intolerance and that certain breeds are particularly intolerant to specific food groups.

Giving this quality food to your cat will help to reduce symptoms caused by intolerances and allergies, making them a far more contented pet. Because veterinary diets are formulated for the nutritional support of pets with specific clinical conditions, we recommend that you only use them under professional advice. For more information on feeding Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Hypoallergenic DR 25 to your cat, please consult your veterinary surgeon.

  • Recommended by the RVC
The RVC recommended that one of my Burmese can only have veterinary diet hypoallergenic food, so we have this and the Purina hypoallergenic. All of my cats obviously have this as well, all love it.

  • Works for my cats
I have 2 Siamese who suffer from allergies. One who is on immunotherapy and other medications. This food helps with their digestive system for both and the other one is not on any medication. Our vet recommended this food about 6 years ago and I saw an immediate improvement in both of their toilet deposits! Never given them anything else since.

  • Good for my Russian Blue
My cat suffers from chronic inflammation of the stomach and this is the only food thats levelled him out.

  • Seems toxic to my cat..
I’ve tried everything with this food.. gradually introducing it. Mixed about 15 grains of this with my cats normal dry food and he has been sick and has diarrhoea. We tried this same food a few months ago and the same thing happened. This is meant to be a hypoallergenic food and it seems toxic. My cat is less sick eating dreamies! We are sticking with his Purina hypoallergenic.
