Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Dental S/O DSO 29 Adult Dry Cat Food
Product details
Royal Canin Vet Diet Feline Dental S/O DSO 29 is a complete food designed for cats who suffer from sensitive teeth and gums.
How it works
As well as providing your cat with all their nutritional needs, this food is a valuable addition to your cat's daily oral hygiene routine. It is made with nutrients known to protect cat's teeth by trapping the tartar-forming calcium in your cat's saliva. This helps both to lessen the likelihood of your pet developing tooth decay and combat bad breath.
Alongside maintaining your pet's dental health, the food helps to prevent other health issues that can commonly occur in cats. A carefully designed blend of fibre makes it easier for hairs to pass through your cat's system and into their stools, giving relief from the discomfort of hairballs. The combination of minerals in the food also works to dilute your cat's urine, decreasing the chance of them developing painful and potentially problematic urine stones.
Key benefits
- contains nutrients which work to prevent the formation of tartar
- protects against bad breath
- blend of fibres make it easier for hairs to pass through your cat's system, preventing hairballs
- works to dilute urine, decreasing the likelihood of urine stone formation.
How it works
Dental sensitivity and pain is common in cats, as even with regular brushing it can be difficult to remove all traces of food from their teeth. Deposits from food and saliva form plaque, which attaches to your pet's teeth and hardens to form tartar. Left alone, this can cause issues such as bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease (gingivitis).
If you notice that your cat's breath is beginning to smell unpleasant, or that they have red gums or reddish-brown patches on their teeth, it is important that you book an appointment with your vet for a dental check up. Your vet will be able to give you tips on cleaning your cat's teeth, and may also book your pet a further appointment for a deep clean and descale. They might also recommend a change of diet to a specialised food such as Royal Canin Vet Diet Feline Dental S/O DSO 29, which will help protect your pet's teeth and gums.
Because veterinary diets are formulated for the nutritional support of pets with specific clinical conditions, we recommend that you only use them under professional advice. For more information on feeding Royal Canin Vet Diet Feline Dental to your cat, please consult your veterinary surgeon.

Teeth and gumsThese biscuits were prescribed by our vet to address a gum problem and after 6 months the gums were back to full health with the added benefit of pearly white teeth. The taste must be 5 star too as none are ever left in the bowl. We continue to use this product to maintain excellent oral cleanliness and health.

5 stars for the kibble, 0 stars for the storeThis product is difficult to find, I've no option but to buy on line. To avoid the ridiculously expensive delivery costs (only free after £50 - on pet products!?) I have shifted other items over to Paws and purchase under a subscription. One of the items wasn't available, Paws sent the rest and because the cost had dropped below £50 charged me the shipping. Pretty lame. Shame this company has taken over Fetch which used to be a very easy process with Ocado. I'll be cancelling. That aside, my cat had very bad teeth, after using this food for around 4 years her teeth are in great condition. It works!

Royal Canin Vet Dental biscuitsMy older cat was recommended to have them for his teeth. When I had a new kitten as soon as she was a year I started her on them. They both enjoy them and their teeth are healthy

Dental dry foodMy wife and I got two cats from a rescue centre. One of them, when they were checked by a vet, had Gingivitis. We were advised to get Royal Canin Dental dry food. This was a great success with our cats. We already had a couple of bags of different dry food which they had been eating, so we mixed the dry food. This was about a year ago, and now they will only eat the Dental dry food. The cat that had gingivitis had to have her teeth cleaned and tartar removed by the Vet, and after a year she still has very white teeth.
