Product details

PURINA PROPLAN VETERINARY DIETS Canine NF Renal Function is a nutritious, complete veterinary diet for dogs with chronic kidney disease.

Purina Proplan Renal Function has been devleoped with restricted amounts of phosphorus as this can build up in those with kidney disease and has been shown to progression of the condition. It contains a limited amount of high quality protein, helping to reduce the build-up of toxins, while aiding in the maintenance of muscle mass. Omega-3 fatty acids also help maximise the natural anti-inflammatory processes and reduce blood pressure inside the kidney.

*Note this feed is not suitable for dogs that require a high protein/phosphorus diet such as pregnant bitches or growing puppies.

Key Benefits:

  • Dietary phosphate restriction to support kidney function, helping to slow down progression of chronic kidney disease
  • Restricted but high quality protein to help reduce the build-up of toxins in the body and therefore improve quality of life
  • Omega-3 fatty acids help reduce blood pressure in the kidneys and maximises the natural anti-inflammatory process
  • Low sodium
  • Added B-complex vitamins

  • Why has the price risen so much?
I was buying this product regularly for my dog who has kidney damage. Unfortunately the price has risen from £18 to £23.99 on this site and elsewhere. I can only assume it is the manufacturer cashing in on people with sick pets.

  • Wouldn't eat it.
I bougth this for my Labrador that had just been diagnosed with Renal Failure. Unfortunately she would not eat any of it. I have now got her to eat a diffferent Renal food.

  • My elderly dog can tolerate this product
My elderly dog has been a fussy eater from 8 weeks old. I was worried that she would rather starve than eat this important food. So far almost two weeks in she is eating it although a bit less than she should do but her weight is maintained so she must be eating enough. From my own personal view it does look unappetising and I did not expect the appearance of it. I feel that if the smell of it was enhanced then dogs would eat it more willingly.
