What are YAKERS made from? YAKERS are made from cheese that comes from a blend of Yak and Cow milk. The cheese is vegetarian as the only ingredients are milk, with the smallest amount of Lime Juice and Salt to help turn the milk into cheese. How are YAKERS made? YAKERS find their origin in the hills of the Himalayas. YAKERS are made from a mix of skimmed Yak and Cow milk. A very small amount of lime juice and salt is added to coagulate (harden) the milk, which is then compressed into blocks and smoke dried for 28 days to give the chews their unique flavour. What is the best way to store YAKERS? Keep your YAKERS in a cool and dry place. These products get better with age and last longer the older they are which is why there is a 5 year shelf life on them. How old does my dog have to be for YAKERS? YAKERS are suitable for all dogs over 4 months old.
YAKERS are low in fat at only 5.2%, the cheese used is made from skimmed milk as all of the cream is removed as part of the process. Isn't salt bad for dogs? Salt in large amounts is harmful for dogs as it is for humans. However in YAKERS we only use a tiny amount of salt along with lime juice to get the cheese to coagulate (harden) at the very start of the manufacturing process. Long-ish lasting chewThese are a huge hit in this household! Willow (Labrador) will take a few days with these as she’ll stop after about 30mins. My favourite part is that I can pop the final bit in the microwave to puff it up so that I’m less worried she’s going to choke on it as she loves lying on her back with it in her mouth! If your dog doesn’t get bored of chewing, likely that it won’t last more than an hour.

Fine - but not great for big chewersThese used to last my golden retriever hours and hours. Now she’s bigger we’re lucky if it lasts an hour. Sure it’s good for smaller dogs or dogs that aren’t crazy chewers but for us it isn’t worth the money any more.

Yakers Dog ChewMy dog loved this hard chew. It kept her occupied for ages. She leaves rawhide chews and never goes back to them but she returns to Yakers again and again. I shall definitely be ordering more. A healthy treat at last!!!

Good distraction but he gets bored easilyGood little long lasting chew. My dog gets bored easily so I only leave it with him for about 30-40mins at a time but he seems just as eager when I get the chew out again.
