Protexin Pro-Fibre for Dog & Cat
Product details
Protexin Pro-Fibre is an additional source of fibre for cats and dogs.
How it works
Protexin Pro-fibre is a tasty, palatable pellet that can be added to your pet's daily food. Some cat and dog foods can leave your pet lacking in their daily intake of fibre. This can lead to problems with digestion.
These pellets contain multiple sources of fibre to easily up your pet's daily intake. Fibre helps your pet digest their food more efficiently; good digestion means they can absorb the maximum amount of nutrients from their food.
Prebiotics and probiotics contained in this supplement aid the growth of good bacteria, essential for keeping the gut healthy. These bacteria work together to exclude pathogenic bacteria that could be causing your dog's gut harm.
Key benefits
- tasty pellets that can be added to your pet's daily food
- a natural source of fibre
- for cats and dogs
- prebiotics and probiotics stimulate growth of good bacteria
- 'friendly' bacteria help fight harmful toxins.
When to use it
If your cat or dog isn't getting enough fibre in their diet, it can have a negative effect on their health. Lack of fibre means they can't digest their food efficiently, which in turn means they can't absorb all of the nutrients they need. A low fibre diet has also been linked to impaction of the anal glands and coprophagia (eating their own stools).
It's quite easy to tell if your pet is suffering from a digestive issue due to a lack of fibre. They may start vomiting or show symptoms of diarrhoea, they may be constipated or have blood or mucus in their stools. If you notice these symptoms in your cat or dog, seek advice from your vet as soon as possible.
Protexin Pro-fibre can be added to your pet's daily food. Follow the feeding guidelines for the correct amount for their height and weight. If the problem persists, take them for a checkup with your vet.

Not ideal for all dogsMy dog started vomiting yellow bile after starting on this. Not for every dog. I didn’t rate it down as the problem was probably an intolerance of the ingredients.

It works really wellI was recommended to use this for my dog by the vet, and have used it now for quite some time. Her stools are very much firmer and we've had no further problems. I've started giving it to my other dog too to ward off any future issues. It's great to have on repeat order so I never forget and never run out. Would definitely recommend.

Absolute game changerStarted giving it regularly to my 15y old girl cat as prone to constipation, which sorted that. Then also started giving it to her brother whom had frequent diarrhoea. Now often i can't tell the difference in their poo. Amazing But toptip, I soak a heaped measure if granules in water, keep in the fridge. Then add to all their food mixed with more water, so they don't even notice it
