Product details

Give your large breed puppy all the nutrients they need to grow up healthy and happy with IAMS Puppy & Junior dry food.

How it works

Growing puppies need special care when it comes to their food – especially large and giant breeds that sprout fast. This mix is tailored to address their needs. It's full of high-quality chicken protein, which is great for developing strong muscles. Added calcium protects growing joints, while antioxidants boost the immune system and ward off illnesses and infections. Omega-3 fatty acids like DHA aid cognitive development and are ideal for helping your puppy to learn, while omega-6 nourishes the skin and coat. To make all these nutritious ingredients easy to digest, IAMS adds a fibre blend including prebiotics and beet pulp.

Key benefits

  • tasty dry food formulated for large and giant-breed pups
  • calcium supports growing joint cartilage
  • omega oils aid cognitive development and boost skin and coat health
  • antioxidants support their natural defences
  • high-quality proteins are great for growing muscles

When to use it

IAMS Puppy & Junior food is formulated for large breed puppies from 25 to 40+ kilograms. It's ideal for supporting both body and mind as your pet grows and learns. Young dogs can sometimes suffer with an upset stomach, so this mix has a high fibre content. It's easy on the digestive system, minimising the potential for accidents and firming up stool so that it's easier for you to scoop up. This dry food is formulated for pups aged up to 24 months and you can feed it to them from three weeks old. When changing your pet's food, gradually mix the new with the old to avoid upsetting their stomach.

These guideline amounts are a starting point and your puppy may need more food depending upon age, activity and temperament. In order to reach optimal body condition you may need to adjust food intake. This represents the total recommended volume of food per day. You should divide the total recommended feeding amount by the number of times you feed your puppy per day to get the actual portion size per feeding. Large breed puppies, reaching 25-40kg at maturity, should transition to Iams ProActive Health Large Breed Adult formula at 12 months of age. Giant breed puppies, over 40kg at maturity, should transition to Iams ProActive Health Large Breed Adult formula at 24 months of age. Remember to have clean, fresh water available for your puppy at all times. When introducing Iams Puppy food, gradually mix it with your puppy's current food over the course of 4 days. This food is not recommended for pregnant or nursing dogs.

  • First time customer
I recently placed an order with Pet Supermarket for the first time. The cost of the goods was a lot cheaper than the pet store I normally use for the same brand of food. The delivery service was much appreciated in that I did not have to spend time and effort to go to the pet store and delivery was quick and efficient. I will continue to use this service.

  • Always use
I have an 18 month Black Labrador. Her breeder fed her Iams. So I continued. I had always fed Iams to my other dogs as well. Her coat is always shining and silky. People stop and comment on it. I do vary the food by adding tasty bits I.e. Extra veg, natural yogurt and vegetables to make her meals a bit more exciting.

  • We have a lab x rotti bitch whom we mated earlier this year with a black lab. We fed her Iams for the last two weeks of her pregnancy & she gave birth to 15 pups! We lost the last one. They weighed between 11 & 14 oz and all are doing extremely well. At 7 weeks of age people thought our pups were at least 12 weeks. Now sold on those that have changed their diets to cheaper food have noticed that their coats are dull etc. can't rate it enough.

  • The company Iams does majorly cruel animal testing (on dogs) for (apparent) research into the food they sell. Some die, all suffer. No respect here.
