Hill's Science Plan Feline Adult Light
Hill's Science Plan Feline Adult Light has been formulated to help obesity-prone cats maintain their ideal weight. The diet is low calorie and low fat to help maintain the ideal weight of obese-prone cats 1 to 6 years of age.
How it works
This food is low in fat but high in dietary fibre, a combination which helps to keep your cat slim but also feeling fuller for longer. It also means that you won't need to reduce your cat's meal size. Added L-carnitine works with your cat's metabolism to manage excess body fat, retain muscle and keep them looking lean and fit.
Hill's exclusive Superior Antioxidant Formula is designed to give your cat's immune system a boost, helping them to become generally more healthy and better at fighting infections. The food is also designed to improve the appearance of your cat's skin and coat, so they both look and feel fantastic.
- low in fat and high in fibre to help your cat lose weight easily
- no need to reduce meal size
- L-carnitine works to reduce excess body fat
- Hill's Superior Antioxidant Formula supports your cat's immune system
- supports a healthy skin and coat.
When to use it
Like us, our pets often gain weight bit by bit over a period of time, so you might not immediately notice that they've become overweight. However, if your pet starts to show a lack of energy, reluctance to exercise, or exhaustion after light activity, it's worth taking them to the vet for a weight and health check. If your vet confirms that your cat is heavier than he or she should be, they may recommend a change of diet to a food especially designed for overweight or obese cats.
Obesity is one of the most common health issues cats face, and left untreated it can cause or exacerbate serious illnesses such as arthritis, heart disease and diabetes. Depending on your cat's genetics and lifestyle, they might be especially prone to weight gain, but by being aware of this, you can monitor their weight and help them keep it stable. An easy way to do this is to make sure your cat has plenty of opportunities to play and exercise. Since playing is also great for your pet's mental health, this will keep them happy as well as helping them maintain muscle and lose fat. A high quality, low fat and high fibre diet, fed as recommended for your cat's size and weight, will also be of benefit.
