What a difference it has madeMy 18 year old ginger flurken was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last year. Sadly, the medication wasn't an long term option for him as he had a bad reaction to it. Enter, Hills y/d. Which, he immediately loved the taste of. And, in four short weeks, has helped him put on a bit of weight, calmed him down (he is still nuts though) and has massively improved his coat, eyes and general quality of life. He now seems like his old self - happy, calm, inquisitive cat who can enjoy his old age.
Not for my kitty :-(This is not a wet food it’s more like a pate (very dry and smelly) my cat loves the biscuits for thyroid problems but ran a mile at this tinned version. I now have 23 tins of unwanted food.
A life saver! After my 18 year old moggy being diagnosed with hyper thyroidism, options were to operate after a course of tablets. The tablets left me with an even sicker cat and locum vet suggested y/d diet by way of being proactive. After 6 weeks of being on it and normal vet openly discrediting this diet, T count had dropped into normal range! Was told to carry on feeding my cat this food and after another 5 weeks, she is looking healthier, fur is recovering, etc. I use the tinned food alongside the dry to give variety, offering plenty of water.
My old CatMy old cat got diagnosed with over active thyroid it was incredibly high! Went to the vet and they said we had 2 options tablets or we could try this cat food. We opted for the cat food , his thyroid dropped to normal levels very quickly and 3yrs on my cat has normal levels and is in good health.
Not very temptingMy Son's little cat has to be on an exclusive thyroid diet as a last resort as nothing else has worked. She eats the prescription y/d kibble but these tins really aren't 'wet cat food'. Dry, thick paste, quite cloying and unfortunately after purchasing a case.....she doesn't like it.
