Hill's Prescription Diet Kidney Care k/d Wet Dog Food - Chicken
Hill's Prescription Diet Canine k/d is a nutritionally complete feed formulated by vets for dogs suffering from kidney disease.
How it works
Hill's Prescription Diet Canine k/d has been clinically proven to support your dog's kidney function and slow the progress of disease, giving your pet a better quality of life. The low sodium formulation is easy on the kidneys, while small doses of high-quality protein ensures your dog is getting all the nutrition he needs. The food also includes high levels of antioxidants, which can neutralise free radicals; molecules in your dog's system that can speed up the disease process and deterioration. As a nutritionally complete feed, this dog food is intended to replace regular dog food for the duration of your pet's life.
- improves quality of life by slowing the progress of kidney disease
- clinically proven to reduce signs and symptoms of renal problems
- protects kidney and heart function
- supports appetite
- includes small doses of high-quality protein
- low sodium
- high level of antioxidants
- nutritionally complete: takes the place of regular dog food.
When to use it
Signs of kidney disease include increased thirst, needing to urinate more often, weight loss, bad (worse than usual) breath, vomiting, diarrhoea, mouth pain, lethargy, depression and a dull coat. If your dog is showing any of these symptoms it's important to visit your vet right away. Some of the symptoms can be caused by other health issues, so a proper diagnosis is crucial. It's especially important if your dog is aged seven years or older: this is the age when kidney problems become more common.
Good nutrition can help to slow the progress of the disease. Protein, phosphorus and salt need to be limited: this means no more human food. High phosphorus foods include doggy favourites like hard cheese, ham, and peanut butter.
Because veterinary diets are formulated for the nutritional support of pets with specific clinical conditions, we recommend that you only use them under professional advice. For more information on feeding Hill's Prescription Diet Canine k/d to your dog, please consult your veterinary surgeon.

The dog eats it rather than the dry food.I brought this to help the dog as she was not liking the dry food .Disappointed that I could not buy two trays of food without paying a hefty carriage charge.
So far so good with our old boyOur 14 year old collie cross started to drink more and wee more - getting caught short a few times - so we had him tested. He was shown to have kidney disease and so we tried Royal Canin dried and wet, which he ate, but he seemed to get an upset stomach after a few days. Then we tried the Hills k/d wet food which he eats without problems and has been on it for about a month. He is drinking less and not having problems getting through the night without weeing anymore. The high quality protein seems to have had a beneficial effect on his weakening back legs too, improving mobility slightly, so very happy. Having it delivered with Ocado is also easy and free.
Perfect Kidney Dog Foodmy dog who has kidney disease loves this he is a fussy wee dog but no worries with this wet food he loves it
It's okBought this has our boy didn't like another brand.. He initially seemed to eat it. It did seem a better consistency but he decided he wasn't eating much of this one either. He does eat the kibble now either with or without water added.... Fussy dog
Excellent for kidney disease older dogsMy old dog has to eat a kidney diet. The texture of the meat in these tins has kept her interested in her food where others haven’t.
