Bakers Meaty Meals Chicken
Product details
Chicken Bakers Complete Meaty Meals is a dry but tender dog food with a rich chicken flavour.
How it works
The chicken-flavoured kibbles are soft rather than crunchy, giving your dog a real meat-like experience as they munch through them. The food is fortified with extra minerals such as iron – essential for healthy blood – and vitamin D, which can help to strengthen teeth and bones. The formula contains high-quality protein to support healthy muscles, and antioxidants give your dog's immune system a helping hand by fighting free radicals in the bloodstream.

When to use it
Although all dogs are different, adult dogs should be fed twice a day, as a rule of thumb. Portion sizes should be carefully controlled, as overeating could put your dog at risk of developing obesity.
With Bakers Complete Meaty Meals in chicken flavour, it's recommended that toy dogs, such as Chihuahuas, should eat no more than 120 grams of this food per day, while small dogs, such as French bulldogs, shouldn't eat more than 200 grams. Medium dogs, such as collies, can have up to 405 grams; large dogs, such as Labrador retrievers, up to 530 grams; and giant breeds, such as great Danes, up to 880 grams.
If your pet does become obese, this can lead to other health risks, like diabetes. A healthy dog should have an hourglass figure if you look at them from above. If you're having trouble distinguishing a waist, or if your animal is having trouble keeping up on walks, you may need to speak to your vet about putting them on a calorie-controlled diet.

One half pint mug holds approximately 85g of Bakers Complete Meaty Meals. This feeding guide is based on average requirements for moderately active dogs at normal environmental temperatures. Individual needs may vary and feeding should be adjusted as required to maintain your dog at a lean, healthy body weight. If fed as a treat or meal complement then the quantity given should be instead of an equivalent volume of normal dog food. Puppies and pregnant bitches should be fed to appetite.
Fresh, clean drinking water should always be available.
Feeding The Correct Amount
It is important to remember however that these figures are guidelines only, and there are several factors to be taken into account when assessing your pet's nutritional requirements : -
- Activity level
- Temperament (stressed animals burn off more calories than relaxed ones)
- Metabolism (every animal is an individual with his or her own speed of metabolism; this means that 2 dogs of the same age, breed and weight could have different daily calorie requirements)
In order to provide the correct portions when feeding your dog or cat, it is also helpful to assess your pet's appetite, visual appearance and stools. Whilst poo watching does not sound particularly pleasant, it is one of the best indicators of health. Increased frequency of passing faeces, production of large quantities of stools of loose motions are often frequent signs that an animal is receiving more food than he or she requires.
It is important to obtain an accurate weight for your cat or dog, and also to weigh out the food. Guessing on both accounts gives a large margin of error.
