After 12 years in finance, most recently on the commodities trading desk at Goldman Sachs in London, Ivan left the City in 2007 to found MedicAnimal, an idea that was seven years in the making. Disillusioned by the purely commercial emphasis of most online retailers, Ivan’s aim was to help build a company where Vets can lead the development of online pet care and where the focus is on contributing to the overall welfare of all animals through a strong commitment to charity.
After several years of practice as a veterinary surgeon in both the UK and Australia, most recently at Abbey Vets in London; what led Andrew to MedicAnimal was a combination of the dislike of the purely commercial approach of most online pet health retailers and the slow but steadily rising interest of his clients to shop online. Determined that vets should be leading the evolution of the veterinary profession online, Andrew joined to bring “Care with a Conscience” to the team.
After a career in online business development in France and the UK, most recently as part of the corporate strategy team at Orange in London, Spyros joined MedicAnimal as the Chief Operating Officer, bringing years of online business and operational experience to the team.
After a career as an entrepreneur and manager of online businesses in Canada, the US and Europe, most recently as the senior manager at Kinetica-Museum an art gallery aimed at encouraging the convergence of art and technology, Peter leads the daily operations at MedicAnimal and contributes to the overall strategy of the company.
Fred is Head Legal Counsel. Fred was raised and educated in France, received his PhD in Law from the University of Paris in 2004. Before joining MedicAnimal Fred served as Head of Legal for eBay in Europe. Fred spent 8 years with eBay, first in the US and finally in Europe, and previous to eBay spent 2 years as legal counsel for iBazar, another auction website.
Following a career as a practicing veterinary surgeon in Australia and the UK, most recently in London, Claire oversees all veterinary operations at MedicAnimal, supervising the verification of and filling of prescriptions, providing general advice to clients, and determining the general strategic direction of the business.
Jay is a Pharmaceutical Chemist with a background in retail pharmacy and extensive experience in a variety of business and professional roles. Post registration in 1998 he has worked as a pharmacist in over 250 retail outlets including independents & national multiples as well as in general medical practices, HM Prison service and care home medication suppliers.
An equine expert and practicing veterinary nurse, most recently in London, Clair supervises the business development of the equine business, provides advice to clients and contributes to the general direction of MedicAnimal.
Following a career in the import/export of textiles with one of the world’s largest suppliers of leather goods and in-depth post-graduate studies on the economics of European integration, Bengin oversees business analysis and the logistics of fulfilment.
After a career in the distribution, logistics, and fulfilment of auto parts across Europe, most recently in Switzerland, Vasco joined MedicAnimal to run the day-to-day operations of logistics and fulfilment processes. A native of Swiss-German, Vasco is also involved in the business development of the German market.
Following a career in customer service and the hotel and leisure industry, most recently in Spain and the UK, Chefo is involved in all domestic and international fulfilment, key customer relations, and leads the business development effort in Spain.
Following years of work in customer service, Kady joined MedicAnimal as the senior customer service manager, overseeing all interaction with clients and supervising the company’s telemarketing efforts.
After a degree in French and English, Rhys spent 2 years teaching in Japan before returning to the UK to pursue his career in languages. During a stint at one of the largest energy suppliers in the UK, he became disillusioned with the solely profit driven mentality of such impersonal major companies. Wanting to work in a more conscientious environment, Rhys joined MedicAnimal in November 2008 as a bilingual customer service advisor.
Following years of work in the online retailing and distribution business, most recently with Artigiano on The Isle Of Wight, James joined MedicAnimal as supervisor of fulfilment and logistics of food and heavy products.
Michaela, a native of Germany, joined MedicAnimal in September as business development and regional expert for German-speaking territories. She brings international work experience and most recently worked as a Senior Consultant for an international executive search company in London.
After completing a ND in Equine Science Jenny pursued a career in the horse industry in Canada, Australia and Europe before Managing a Warmblood Stud in North America. Jenny is a BHS approved Instructor and has joined MedicAnimal on a part time basis to co-ordinate B2B relations and assist in website content management while finishing her Degree in Business Management & Finance.
Emilie completed a degree in Wildlife Management and Animal Companionship Management alongside a career in Financial Services in Holland, most recently as a Credit Advisor at the ING Bank in Leeuwarden. Emilie joined MedicAnimal as a Business developer and regional expert for The Netherlands in October 2008.
Following years of work in retail and store operations, most recently with Marks and Spencer’s in London, Marc joined MedicAnimal to be part of the domestic and international fulfilment team.
Noemi joined MedicAnimal as business development and regional expert for Spain after a career in business development and customer service in Barcelona.

From the beginning of the venture, The Abbey Vet Group of Veterinary clinics has served as a guiding force in MedicAnimal’s policy and a sounding board for how to get vets involved in taking charge of the online market. The Abbey Vet Group brings one of the clearest perspectives of how vets should be involved to MedicAnimal and helps define the company’s commitments to vets.
