Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders may affect the
stomach, intestines, or both. They can cause vomiting, maldigestion, diarrhoea,
or constipation. Animals may lose weight and become dehydrated. Some of the more
common symptoms include vomiting, flatulence, weakness, diarrhoea or
constipation.
Hills Prescription Diet Canine I/D was developed to help manage GI disorders in dogs,
such as flatulence, diarrhoea (small intestinal- and certain large intestinal
diarrhoea), pancreatitis and gastric disorders.
Indications -
Gastrointestinal disorders: gastritis, enteritis, colitis, inflammatory bowel
disease (i.e. most causes of diarrhoea, plus malabsorption, bacterial
overgrowth, lymphangiectasia). - Recovery from gastrointestinal surgery.
- Recovery from minor surgical procedures and mildly debilitating
conditions. - Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. - Acute pancreatitis,
without hyperlipidaemia. - Bloat (gastric dilatation and volvulus). -
Complete for growing puppies.
Not recommended for - Cats. - Dogs
with sodium retention.
