A nutritional supplement to help dogs maintain healthy joints

Cosequin comes in several forms covering the needs of cats, small dogs, and large dogs.

Cosequin is an exclusive formula to support and maintain the health of your dog's joints. Each capsule contains 500 mg Glucosamine Hcl, 400 mg 95% Sodium Chondroitin Sulphate 5% mixed Glycosaminoglycans, 33 mg Ascorbate and 5 mg Manganese. 

Initial dosage - six weeks: 
10-20kg - 2caps. per day (1am/1pm) 
20-40kg - 3caps. per day (2am/1pm) 
Over 40kg - 4caps. per day (2am/2pm). 

After the initial six week loading period, reduce dosage to maintenance level. This should be done gradually in 0.5-1 capsule steps, depending on the size of the pet. Do not alter dosage more than once a month. The capsules can be pulled apart and the contents sprinkled on the food. Wet or moist food is preferred to ensure that the entire amount is taken. 

Also, an ingredient such as glucosamine may have the same name from product to product, but it may not have been produced by the same processes and standards that the glucosamine in cosequin is, and, may consequently not be as effective, an important reason to purchase a proven product that is produced under the highest standards and that has been shown to be highly effective. Also, the ingredients in Cosequin are designed to offer relief by actually improving the health of the cartilage matrix, whereas, some pain products, including steroids and NSAIDs, can actually damage it.
